Whoa! I still have this thing?!

So, it's been a while since I've updated this thing. Sorry. I also realized that I rant a lot on this thing. Sorry again. It's like therapy when I really need it... lol!

So, just to keep you updated, I'm still working full-time and going to school full-time and I'm exhausted and burned out and ornery. I try to hide it, but I'm not always successful. Bleh. I graduate and take my national exam in about 7 months. Hallelujah!

I've been feeling severe wanderlust lately. It started as wanting to move out, then moving to another clinic, then moving out & switching clinics, and then just doing it all in one fell swoop and moving out of state. I don't know if part of my problem is that I'm really burned out right now or what, but I feel very stuck. Don't get me wrong: I love the people I work with and I love the place I work for (most of the time, anyway). Hopefully I'll feel better when I graduate. I'm so taking a vacation!

I realized that some people may take my comments on facebook and the groups I have joined to mean that I might be gay or something. I'm not. I really like the male gender. A lot. I do, however, love lots of gay people and I was not happy about Prop 8. Since I'm LDS, some people I know tend to have a "Holier-Than-Thou" Syndrome and I feel shunned for my personal opinions because they do not jive with the majority in the area I live. It's sad. They treat me like a bad person for my opinions. I don't think I'm a bad person. Then people who are against Prop 8 look at me and go, "She's a Mormon, she's rude cause she was for it." They don't even ask my opinion. I'm getting crap from both sides. Oh well. They have a problem, it's their problem. I just think people are acting completely ridiculous about the issue, on both sides. The violence and insults are out of control.

My favorite thing in the world right now? I love spending time with my neices and nephews. Especially Oakley and Camden. Cam is so ticklish, it's hilarious, and he has the cutest laugh and smile. I love to play with them and make them laugh. If I'm ever feeling down, I always cross my fingers that my sister will stop by with them or that she'll call me to babysit. Lights up my life. Truly. (Hint, hint, Tricia!)

Anyway, there's the update from me. If I don't get back on here before Thanksgiving, I hope you all have a very Happy and Stuffing Thanksgiving!

It's about time you updated your blog! August was like a year ago, don't ya know! ha..ha..! Glad to hear that you like to watch my kids. I have lost some babysitters because Oakley isn't the calmest child in the world! Maybe they are just used to their LAZY children! Although Cam is quite laid back. I think it's because he is so busy watching Oakley all the time. LOL!

Interesting thoughts, and yes, there are issues on both sides of the Prop 8 argument. Let it be known that I (and many others) also have dearly loved gay friends and family, but I was still for Prop 8. Just because you have gay loved ones doesn't mean you have to promote or support their harmful life decisions.

I think the reason a lot of people call LDS on lack of support for it is because of the outright and uncategorical instruction of prophets, seers and revelators who have indicated clearly how the Lord feels on the institution of marriage. Like the song says, "follow the prophet", right? Although equally important is following the Spirit, and seeking His guidance that the direction of the prophets is from God. The Church's involvement on this issue seems to some to blur lines, since it's a "political" issue, but I feel the issue itself is what actually blurs the lines, bringing morality into politics, and then it makes perfect sense for God to intervene and for His servants to make a statement.

Still, people can and should be respectful of expression of different ideas.

Hey Steph, hang in there. Prop 8 is a sensitive issue right now and some people don't have all the facts behind it before the argue for or against it...and people are either on one side or the other and I don't think anyone will ever convince someone on the other side to switch over...its a tough battle for everybody. I think our society needs to learn to listen to each other and accept differences in each other's beliefs while standing up for our own...but I don't think that standing up for our own beliefs means putting down others for theirs...sometimes its a fine line. Know you are loved!
